Genuine Japanese Binchotan, 60 gram stick for fountains
Genuine Binchotan of Ubamegashi holm oak 60 grams (XXL model) for the purification of tap water,accompanied by its authenticity sticker issued by the Japanese coal cooperative.
 
All our Binchotan sticks are cut, cooked and cleaned by hand by our Japanese artisans.

The Binchotan for fountains is indicated to purify large quantities of water in one go.
 
Binchotan is used at a rate of 20 to 40 grams per liter depending on the quality and taste of your water:
 
- 20 grams per liter for good quality water with a pleasant taste
- 30 grams per liter for medium quality water with medium taste
- 40 grams per liter for poor quality water with bad taste
 
Leave the stick to act for a minimum of 8 hours (do not exceed 48 hours).
Your tap water will naturally regain the quality of spring water!

Since Binchotan is a natural product, the weight can vary by a few grams. Due to the natural origin of the product and the density of the wood, the shape and length of the sticks may vary. The product can be received in un  or several sticks depending on supplies. The sticks  are designed to fit into a water fountain or a wide-mouth pitcher.
 
ATTENTION :
 
All our Binchotan are labeled by the Wakayama Prefecture in Japan and they all bear the yellow certification sticker, as a sign of their authenticity.
 
Beware of counterfeits, 90% of the 3 Japanese Binchotan coals from Kishu3 sold in France actually come from China, Indonesia or Laos.
 
If they do not carry the approval (yellow dot), you are probably dealing with carbons produced outside Japan and activated with chemical solvents.
 
Always ask for the certification label with your Kishu Binchotan coals.

  • ITEM DETAILS

    A stick of Binchotan  approved for water filtration by Wakayama Prefecture, usable in carafes or jugs  with a maximum capacity of 3 L.

     

    INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE OF BINCHOTAN :

    1) provide a stick of Binchotan for a carafe with a capacity of 2 to 3 L maximum,  in glass or pottery (you can reuse a bottle of fruit juice own).

    2) make boil the bâtonnet de_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_charcoal for 15 minutes in a pan of water before using

    3 ) take it  out of the water and let it  dry for about 15 minutes.

    4) insert the bâtonnet  into the carafe or pitcher

    5) let the charcoal act for at least 8 hours.

     

    The ideal is therefore to start the night before and let it act for a whole nuit. 

     

    An activated carbon stick is economical because it is used for 6 months. It is also ecological because it avoids the massive use of mineral water bottles and plastic filter jugs.

     

    Each month, all you need to do is purify your coal  by boiling it again in a pot of water for 15 minutes.

     

    Beyond 6 months, the carbon being saturated, it will be necessary to change it.

     

    It is recommended not to leave a charcoal in the same water for more than 48 hours. If this is the case, all you have to do is empty the water and let the charcoal act again for  8 h.

     

    What to do with used coals? 

    Do not throw away your used coals! They can still be used to reduce odors in the refrigerator or shoe cabinets. You can also  use them for decoration (some make pretty  chimes  or xylophones_ cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_thanks to their sound_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_metallic).

     

    You can also  put them in  the barbecue (it is a very slow burning wood, which will release little_cc7 81905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_ smoke or smells), or compost it. 

     

    Binchotan is totally compostable.

  • EXCHANGE AND REFUND POLICY

    You have a period of 7 days to withdraw, to exchange your order or to request a refund, provided that the items are returned to us in good condition for resale and have not been used. You will then be refunded within 45 days of receipt of the package, which you will return to us. For any refund, we will refund the price of the item(s) exchanged, the shipping costs (outward and return) remain  at the customer's expense.
